Sępopol

Sępopol is a town in Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship situated between agricultural lands and residential areas. Two historic entrance gates mark its traditional boundaries.

The settlement gained town rights in 1351 under the name Schiffenburg after the Teutonic Knights took control of the Old Prussian territory. This marked the start of its development as an established place.

The town displays both Polish and German influences in its building styles and street patterns that visitors can still observe today. These layers blend together in the local celebrations and everyday life of residents.

The town lies about 14 kilometers east of Bartoszyce and serves as the administrative center of its municipality. Visitors can reach it easily and find essential local facilities here.
