Nowy Wiśnicz spans across 5.05 square kilometers of land, nestled 27 miles southeast of Kraków and 4 miles south of Bochnia in southern Poland.
The town experienced substantial changes during World War II, particularly when German forces caused severe damage to the Carmelite Church between 1942 and 1944.
The Carmelite Church, built between 1631 and 1635, contained marble altars and frescoes created by Italian artists Matteo Trapola and Giovanni Battista Falconi.
The Jewish cemetery, located 5 kilometers south of Bochnia, contains numerous gravestones with Hebrew inscriptions, though many are now obscured by vegetation.
A prominent pink castle marks the skyline of Nowy Wiśnicz, serving as a reference point for travelers approaching the town from various directions.
