Lubawka, Municipality in Lower Silesia Voivodeship, Poland
Lubawka stands at the foot of the Sudetes mountain range near the Czech Republic border, functioning as an administrative center of Kamienna Góra County.
The settlement received town rights in 1292 from Duke Bolko I, later becoming part of the Bohemian Crown in 1392 and experiencing destruction during the Hussite Wars.
The Market Square contains numerous historic townhouses, an 18th-century Town Hall, the medieval Church of St. Mary, and the Saint Christopher's Baroque Church.
The construction of railway lines in 1867 transformed the town into an industrial center, leading to substantial growth in textile production and coal mining.
The town appears in the globally recognized song Universal Soldier, which gained international recognition through Donovan's 1965 recording.
