Sanok County, Administrative district in Subcarpathian Voivodeship, Poland
Sanok County extends across 1,225 square kilometers of southeastern Poland, bordering Slovakia and containing two principal towns: Sanok and Zagórz.
The county existed within Rzeszów Voivodeship from 1945 to 1972, then underwent territorial reforms in 1998 to establish its current administrative structure.
The region maintains traditional sheep farming practices across its grasslands, resulting in specialized local dishes including whole wheat pierogi and buckwheat pancakes.
The administrative center of Sanok provides government services to eight surrounding municipalities, with regular council sessions addressing transportation and community matters.
Sixty percent of the county territory consists of permanent grass pastures and grazing lands, supporting extensive livestock farming throughout the rural areas.
