Sanok County, Administrative district in Subcarpathian Voivodeship, Poland
Sanok County spreads across southeastern Poland with a border shared with Slovakia. The area centers on two main towns: Sanok and Zagórz, surrounded by eight municipalities.
The county belonged to Rzeszów Voivodeship from 1945 until 1972, when territorial shifts began. A major administrative reorganization in 1998 created its present-day structure.
Traditional sheep farming shapes the local food culture here, with dishes like whole wheat pierogi and buckwheat pancakes reflecting these rural practices.
Sanok serves as the administrative center where most services are available for residents and visitors. The town provides good road connections and clear orientation within the county area.
Much of the landscape here is devoted to permanent grassland and pasture for livestock. These widespread fields create the visual character of the entire county.
