Ethnographic Museum in Zielona Góra-Ochla, Ethnographic open-air museum in Zielona Góra-Ochla, Poland.
The Ethnographic Museum in Ochla is a large open-air site with roughly 80 historical buildings from various periods. The structures house thousands of objects showing how rural communities lived and what tools and furniture they used.
The museum was founded in 1982 to preserve rural traditions and architecture. The oldest building dates to 1675 and was moved here from its original location to save it from decay.
The collection represents four separate regions and shows how people in different parts of Poland once lived and worked. Walking through the buildings and workshops, you see everyday objects and learn which crafts and customs were typical for each area.
The site is easy to navigate on foot, with marked paths between buildings and plenty of space to explore at your own pace. It helps to wear comfortable shoes and allow several hours for a full visit.
Visitors can join workshops in traditional crafts like glass painting and making Easter decorations. These hands-on activities let you try old techniques yourself and take home something you created.
