Horyniec-Zdrój, Spa village in southeastern Poland
Horyniec-Zdrój is a spa village in southeastern Poland located on lowlands near the Ukrainian border and surrounded by pine forests. Three main sanitariums – CRR KRUS, Bajka, and Uzdrowisko Horyniec – offer treatments using mineral water and therapeutic mud for joint and skin conditions.
The settlement was first documented in 1444, but developed into a health center in the 19th century when the Poninski family discovered mineral springs in the area. This discovery laid the foundation for the modern spa facilities that exist today.
Theater groups from across Poland gather each year for the Biesiada Teatralna Festival, where they perform and compete for the Golden Horn award. This event shapes the cultural life of the village and brings visitors who want to watch both local and national talent.
The pine forests surrounding the area influence the climate with essential oils and clean air, which visitors can experience during walks. Plan your time to enjoy the natural air and make use of the therapeutic and relaxation facilities available.
The local springs contain high concentrations of hydrogen sulfide, which makes them particularly effective for treating cardiovascular diseases. This special characteristic sets this place apart from many other European spa destinations.
