Łaszczów is a small town in Tomaszów Lubelski County located in eastern Poland's flat rural landscape. The settlement features a modest town center with traditional buildings and residential areas spread across several streets and surrounded by open fields.
The settlement originated from the village of Domaniz and received town rights in 1549 from King Sigismund II August, named after Aleksander Laszcz. The town went through different phases of growth and became part of the wider regional structure.
The town developed a mixed population through centuries, with records showing substantial Jewish presence reaching 90 percent of residents by the late 1800s.
The town is accessible from the county seat of Tomaszów Lubelski and situated in a region with decent local services. Visitors will find basic shops and amenities typical of small Polish towns.
The settlement was originally called Prawda before adopting the name Łaszczów. This naming change reflects the transformations the community experienced over time.
