Kopice Palace, Gothic Revival palace in Kopice, Poland
Kopice Palace is a manor house in neo-Gothic style in Kopice, near Grodków in Opole Voivodeship. The estate spreads over a water-surrounded park with three artificial ponds and a 54-hectare (133-acre) site featuring numerous tree species.
Count Hans Ulrich Schaffgotsch and his wife Joanna Gryzik commissioned architect Carl Lüdecke in 1864 to build this residence. The estate served as the family's home until 1945.
The former interior displayed hunting trophies and art collections belonging to a 19th-century Silesian noble family. These vanished objects now recall the private domestic life of a time when the estate was still inhabited.
The now ruined complex stands in Kopice near Grodków, where ongoing talks continue about possible restoration plans. Visitors can usually access the grounds freely but should exercise caution and watch for unstable structures.
Inside the park stand a Chinese pavilion and artificial medieval castle ruins called Mouse Tower. The landscaped gardens also contain ten ornamental ponds that further divide the grounds.
