Siennica, Administrative district in Masovian Voivodeship, Poland.
Siennica is a rural administrative district in Masovian Voivodeship located east of Mińsk Mazowiecki. The gmina comprises several villages and hamlets scattered across flat, fertile farmland.
The settlement began as Szenic in the early 15th century and later became known as Janów before reverting to its original name. In September 1939, the region suffered severe damage from German military operations.
The area has long been shaped by farming communities centered around the church and village square. This traditional rural layout with its open fields and scattered settlements remains the defining character of the region.
The area is easy to navigate and offers good road connections to surrounding gminas. Most visitors explore it best by car, as the villages are spread across the countryside.
A monument in the area commemorates civilians who died in 1939 during the war. The local community has preserved this memory as part of understanding the region's difficult past.
