Muzeum Nikifora w Krynicy-Zdroju

The Nikifor Museum occupies a wooden villa called Romanówka situated on Dietl Boulevard in the spa town's center. The building houses roughly 77 artworks created by the artist using watercolor and gouache on various surfaces.

The villa was built in the second half of the 19th century as a guesthouse with Swiss architectural style and gained protected heritage status in 1972. It was later transformed to showcase the life and work of an artist who lived in the town.

The collection displays works depicting the surrounding mountains, local churches, and train stations rendered in watercolor and gouache. These pieces show how an artist captured his immediate surroundings and daily observations in this spa town.

The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday with varying hours throughout the week. It sits on the main boulevard in the town center, making it easy to visit while exploring the spa town.

The artist painted on unconventional materials such as cigarette boxes and paper bags rather than canvas. The museum displays both his artworks and personal belongings that tell the story of his life.
