Museum of Middle Pomerania in Słupsk

The Museum of Middle Pomerania uses several historic buildings along the Slupia River, including a 16th-century castle and various old storage buildings and gates. The spaces display collections on crafts, ethnographic objects, old books, and materials about the region's past.

The museum was founded in 1924 to preserve and display the region's history and culture. After World War II, Polish museum staff rescued over 600 artifacts from a German local heritage collection and added them to the displays.

The museum preserves crafts and ethnographic objects that show how people lived and worked in the region long ago. These collections reveal the everyday skills and household traditions that shaped local life.

The museum sits in central Slupsk and is easy to reach while exploring the old town area. Plan to spend at least two to three hours if you want to explore the rooms and collections, and note that it may be closed on certain days.

The museum holds the world's largest collection of works by Polish artist Stanislaw Ignacy Witkiewicz, known by the artist name Witkacy. His modern and often unusual works form a special focus within the collection.
