Mining operations at Złoty Stok began in the 12th century, marking one of the oldest documented gold extraction sites in Poland, with continuous activity until the early 20th century.
The mine features an underground chapel where miners gathered for prayers, displaying religious sculptures carved directly into the rock walls by mining communities.
Guided tours operate daily from April through October between 09:00 and 17:30, while winter hours from November through March run from 09:00 to 16:00.
The facility houses an ancient water-powered hammer mechanism used for breaking rocks, demonstrating the advanced mining technology employed during medieval times.
