Piaski transmitter

The Piaski transmitter is a steel lattice tower in Giełczew standing 342 meters tall, ranking among the highest structures in Poland. The installation holds multiple antennas at different levels that broadcast television and radio signals across a vast region.

Construction of this transmitter began in autumn 1986 and was completed in December 1990, replacing an older broadcasting station. The new facility took over media distribution responsibilities for the entire region.

The tower supplies television and radio broadcasts to millions of residents across the Lublin region and beyond. From a distance, you can see how this structure serves as the media hub for multiple provinces.

The tower is visible from great distances and serves as a clear landmark in the flat surrounding landscape. The best viewing spots are found on roads around Giełczew where you can take in the full height of the structure.

The antennas on this mast are positioned at different heights because radio and television signals need separate elevations to work properly. This clever technical arrangement allows both types of broadcasts to originate from the same tower.
