Browar Namysłów
Browar Namysłów is a brewery in the town of Namysłów, Poland, with origins reaching back centuries. The facility features brick buildings with sturdy functional architecture from the 19th century, dominated by large fermentation tanks and brewing equipment that make the traditional craft visible and accessible to visitors.
The brewery first appeared in written records in 1321 when a local prince documented a brewing house in Namysłów. In the 19th century, master brewer August Haselbach purchased the old castle brewery and modernized it, with his family running it until World War II.
The brewery shares its name with the town of Namysłów and has been part of community life for centuries. Open fermentation tanks remain a visible part of the brewing process, allowing visitors to witness a method of beer-making that has changed little over generations.
The location is within walking distance of Namysłów town center and sits near the historic castle. Visitors should plan to explore the old brick buildings and brewing grounds from outside areas, as access to active production areas is limited.
In 1348, King Kazimierz the Great and Czech emperor Karl IV visited the nearby castle for peace talks and likely drank beer brewed here. An old stone well from the 17th century with carved lion heads still stands on the castle grounds, bearing witness to the site's long history.
