Cerkiew św. Aleksandra Newskiego w Warszawie

Saint Alexander Nevsky Church is an Orthodox marble building in Łazienki Park featuring characteristic onion domes and Byzantine design. The structure has a Greek cross layout and stands among the park's trees near Vilnius station.

The church was built between 1867 and 1869 for the growing Russian population under architect Andrzej Gołoński. Following significant deterioration, major restoration work in the mid-1950s renewed its structure and artistic features.

The church serves as a spiritual center for Warsaw's Orthodox community and shapes the religious character of the area around the park. Visitors can observe traditional Byzantine elements throughout the building that reflect the faith and customs of those who gather here.

The best way to visit is to walk through the park and locate the church among the shaded tree areas. Its proximity to the nearby train station makes arrival by public transport straightforward.

A supplementary chapel dedicated to Archangel Michael was added in 1999 to expand the religious facilities. This addition shows how the site has adapted to meet contemporary needs while honoring tradition.
