The Church of the Assumption of the Archangel Michael is a wooden building with an octagonal nave and a three-story bell tower. Multiple pentagonal chancels connect through an ambulatory passage that runs around the interior structure.
The building was constructed in 1789 and first served as a Greek Catholic church. In 1839, it returned to Orthodox Christianity when religious circumstances in the region shifted.
The main iconostasis installed in 1875 shows the religious art traditions that mattered deeply to the Orthodox community in this region. Walking inside, you can see how these sacred images reflected what people believed and valued.
