The Music District spans 12 hectares in central Bydgoszcz, bounded by Staszica, Gdanska, Mickiewicza, and Kollataja streets, with Kochanowski Park at its center.
The district's urban layout emerged between 1896 and 1903, following garden city principles, with major cultural institutions added in the 1940s and 1950s.
The district houses the Pomeranian Philharmonic, Nowowiejski Music Academy, Polish Theatre, and features sculptures of notable composers throughout Kochanowski Park.
Park walkways connect the main cultural venues, allowing visitors to move between the Philharmonic, Music Academy, and Polish Theatre without vehicle traffic.
The district includes an electronic fountain that synchronizes water displays with music, creating regular audiovisual performances during summer months.
