Dzikowiec, Mountain summit in Park Krajobrazowy Sudetów Wałbrzyskich, Poland.
Groß Wildberg, now known as Dzikowiec, is a mountain summit located in the Landscape Park of the Wałbrzych Sudetes in southwestern Poland. The peak sits within a forested area where mixed woodlands cover the slopes on all sides.
The peak carried the German name Groß Wildberg until 1945, when Lower Silesia passed from German to Polish administration after World War II. The mountain was then renamed Dzikowiec as part of the broader renaming of places across the region.
The summit, today known as Dzikowiec, draws hikers from the Wałbrzych area who come on weekends to walk the forested trails. At the top, visitors can look out over a wide stretch of rolling hills covered in trees.
A parking area at the eastern base gives access to the marked trails that lead up through the forest. The paths are clearly signed and straightforward to follow even for those new to the area.
Dzikowiec ranks among the five most prominent summits within the park, even though it is less talked about than some nearby peaks. Its rise above the surrounding terrain gives it a topographic presence that makes it stand out on a map of the area.
