Dzwon Pokoju w Warszawie, Peace monument in Mokotów, Poland.
The Peace Bell stands at Jana Sebastiana Bacha Street 15 as a bronze sculpture mounted on a base with protective iron framework. The monument occupies a small green area in the Mokotów district with walking paths around it.
Japan gifted this bell to Warsaw in 1989, cast from coins collected by people around the world. The original was stolen in 2002, but a replacement bell was created in 2015.
The bell bears inscriptions in multiple languages and displays symbols expressing hope for peace. Visitors can read the messages and view the crafted design from different angles around the monument.
The monument is easy to reach by public transport, with several bus and tram stops within walking distance. The site is accessible during daylight hours, and visitors can stop and view it from the adjacent pedestrian walkway.
The bell was distributed in 1989 as one of 50 identical replicas of the Hiroshima Peace Bell placed worldwide. This global distribution makes it part of a peace network connecting continents and different cultures.
