Fort Reditowy 12 stands at the intersection of 29 Listopada and Kamienna streets, featuring neo-Gothic architectural elements and three defensive caponiers across its structure.
Constructed between 1850 and 1856, this fortification protected the Warsaw Highway checkpoint and later transformed into a Gestapo prison during World War II.
The fort walls contain preserved inscriptions from prisoners held during its time as a detention facility, documenting a significant period in Polish resistance history.
The complex spans 2,500 square meters and currently houses commercial spaces, with plans underway to convert sections into offices, hotels, and dining establishments.
This structure represents the oldest preserved component of the Austrian Fortress Kraków, maintaining its original polygonal fortification design from the 1850s.
