Rezerwat przyrody Bagna Nietlickie, Nature reserve in Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, Poland
Rezerwat przyrody Bagna Nietlickie is a wetland and peat bog area in the Warmian-Masurian region with open water, reed beds, and surrounding woodlands. The landscape combines different habitat types that together support diverse plant and animal life.
The reserve was formally established in 2003 through a regional decree and had undergone water management improvements shortly before, including construction of two retention structures. These works between 2001 and 2003 helped prepare the area for protected status.
The reserve forms part of the Great Masurian Lakes Protected Landscape Area, representing traditional land management practices of the Masurian region.
The site features observation points and walking trails that allow visitors to explore the different habitats on foot. As part of a larger conservation network with several Natura 2000 sites, the location offers good opportunities for exploring the wetland at your own pace.
The site serves as a crucial stopover point for more than 4,000 cranes during their migrations, ranking among Poland's largest crane gathering places. These annual congregations make the location a remarkable spot for witnessing this natural spectacle.
