Gmach Stowarzyszenia Techników w Warszawie, Engineering association building in Śródmieście, Warsaw, Poland.
The Gmach Stowarzyszenia Techników is a five-story brick building with a facade featuring columns, large arched windows, and detailed sculptural decorations. The ornaments were created by sculptors Zygmunt Otto and Józef Grodecki.
The building was designed by architect Jan Fijałkowski for the Association of Technicians between 1903 and 1905. It underwent extensive reconstruction in 1947 following World War II damage.
The structure displays sculptures of Daedalus and Icarus near the top, while representations of Archimedes and radium rays at the main entrance connect ancient wisdom with engineering innovation.
The building is located on Tadeusza Czackiego Street 3/5 and serves as a center for engineering professionals with modern acoustic and air conditioning systems. Its central position in Śródmieście makes it easily accessible on foot.
Three symbolic sculptures on the facade were created through a dedicated artistic competition held in 1904. This selection process brought contemporary artistic approaches into the building's design.
