Nature reserve Diabli Skok, Protected forest reserve in Jastrowie, Poland.
Nature Reserve Diabli Skok is a protected forest area with beech and mixed woodland communities located on steep ravine slopes. The core reserve covers about 21 hectares with buffer zones extending along the dramatic terrain formations.
The reserve was established in 1961 by directive of the Ministry of Forestry and Timber Industry to protect local ecosystems. This designation reflected the effort to safeguard the biological diversity of this unique ravine landscape.
The name Diabli Skok means Devil's Jump in Polish and refers to the dramatic ravine that defines this natural site. The steep terrain creates a distinctive character that draws walkers interested in exploring rugged landscapes.
The site is accessible via a designated hiking trail that winds through the beech and mixed forests. Sturdy footwear is recommended due to the steep slopes and uneven terrain throughout the route.
The reserve contains around 285 plant species, including mountain vegetation that thrives in the ravine's unique microclimate in northern Poland. This unusual combination of highland plants in a lowland region makes the site particularly interesting for botanists.
