Rezerwat przyrody Lipowiec, Nature reserve in Bochnia County, Poland.
Lipowiec Nature Reserve is a protected forest area near Bochnia that forms part of the larger Niepołomice Forest complex. The site contains dense old-growth woodland that visitors can explore on foot using established trails.
The reserve received official protection status through a ministerial decree in 1959 when it was much smaller. The protected area was later expanded to include more of the valuable old-growth woodland.
The reserve maintains several protected plant species and serves as a research center for scientists studying forest ecosystems and natural processes.
Entry to the area is via marked walking trails that are well maintained and easy to follow. For more information, visitors can contact the Regional Directorate for Environmental Protection in Kraków.
The forest here stores an unusually high volume of timber per hectare, making it one of the densest woodland stands in the region. This dense structure resembles that of the famous Białowieża Forest further north.
