Muszkowicki Las Bukowy is a 16.43-hectare forest reserve containing 20 different tree species and over 80 herbaceous plants spread across varying terrain. Steep slopes and stream valleys shape the landscape where the Zameczny Stream flows through.
The reserve was established in 1966 by the Ministry of Forestry and Wood Industry to preserve original beech forests. These woodlands once covered the entire Sudetes region before most were cleared or transformed.
The site contains 29 burial mounds from the Lusatian culture scattered throughout the forest, revealing ancient settlement patterns in this region. These archaeological features remain integrated within the natural landscape today.
Visitors can access the reserve through marked hiking trails connecting Ząbkowice Śląskie to Henryków. The paths run along Zameczny Stream and require sturdy footwear due to sloped terrain.
The reserve harbors one of the region's largest populations of spring snowflake flowers blooming in the forest interior. These rare flowers indicate the good health and maturity of the woodland.
