Nature reserve Dolina Potoku Rudno, Nature reserve in Lesser Poland Voivodeship, Poland.
Nature reserve Dolina Potoku Rudno is a protected forest area in Lesser Poland featuring steep ravines and a meandering stream cutting through the landscape. The terrain displays geological structures from a former porphyry quarry and covers forested hills typical of the Jura region.
The area gained official protected status in 2001 through legal designation. The site was previously worked as a quarry before being converted into a nature reserve to preserve the geological and ecological features of the Jura region.
The reserve sits within the Rudno Landscape Park and serves as a place where people connect with the natural features of Poland's Jura region. Visitors come to experience the geological formations and forest ecosystems that define this part of the landscape.
The site is accessible via marked trails from Krzeszowice and offers walking routes through the forested hills. Wear sturdy footwear as the ground is uneven and weather conditions can change quickly in this forested terrain.
The reserve contains notable stands of giant horsetail, an ancient plant species rarely found in this region. It also preserves a section of black alder forest, a less-common forest type within the broader Jura woodlands.
