Nature reserve Dolina Rzeki Brdy, Nature reserve in Tuchola County, Poland.
The Brda River Valley Reserve is a protected area in the river valley of the Brda, characterized by steep banks and meandering water courses. The reserve spans across multiple municipalities and features diverse forest types that line the riverbanks.
The reserve was established in 1994 by the Polish Ministry of Environmental Protection to preserve the natural features of the Brda valley. This decision recognized the ecological value of the river system as a protected natural area.
Scientists conducted extensive research on macrofungi within the reserve between 1994 and 1995, documenting 279 species in the Tilio-Carpinetum and Aceri-Tilietum associations.
Visitors can explore the area on marked hiking trails, cycling routes, and kayaking opportunities that pass through the protected landscape. Multiple access points allow you to discover the river and valley from different vantage points.
The valley is home to a remarkable variety of animal species, including otters and brook trout that inhabit the river's waters. These creatures indicate the high ecological quality of the Brda valley.
