Schronisko PTTK "Pod Kopą Biskupią", Mountain hut in Opawskie Mountains, Poland
Biskupia-Kopa-Hütte is a mountain shelter in the Opawskie Mountains located at about 850 meters in elevation beneath Biskupia Kopa peak. The building accommodates roughly 50 people and provides basic lodging with simple meals for hikers passing through.
The shelter was founded in 1923 by the Silesian Sudeten Mountain Society and opened in July 1924 as a converted military building. After World War II, it came under Polish administration and received its current name.
The shelter takes its name from the nearby Biskupia Kopa peak and serves as a gathering place for hikers exploring the region. It has become a social hub in the mountains where visitors meet and share their trekking experiences.
The shelter can be reached via several marked hiking trails from different starting points in the region. The route from nearby Jarnołtówek takes about two hours and is reasonably well marked for hikers of varying experience levels.
The shelter maintains a curious tradition where staff members request that visitors donate their neckties, which are then displayed as decorations throughout the Fireplace Room. This humorous custom has become something many hikers remember about their visit.
