The site spans several hectares near the Old Town and has been developed with plans for transformation into cultural spaces, residential units, and commercial areas.

The facility was established around 1900 according to advanced industrial design and operated continuously for meat processing for more than a century. Operations ended with the relocation to a new facility in Robakowo, marking the close of a long era of urban production for the city.

The site was a gathering place where butchers, workers, and traders came together to exchange knowledge about their trade and local commerce. These everyday interactions shaped the neighborhood and the city's economic identity.

The entire site was elevated three to five meters above its natural ground level to account for proximity to the Warta River. This elevation protected the infrastructure from flooding and allowed for functional water supply systems necessary for operations.
