Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary in Brzesko

The Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary is a stone structure in Gothic style with round-arched windows and a separate bell tower. The complex includes an independently standing tower that is positioned at a distance from the main building's facade.

The building was first documented in 1303 as a branch chapel of the Letnin parish and underwent a religious change in the mid-16th century from Catholic to Protestant use. After World War II, it returned to Catholic functions and resumed its original religious purpose.

The interior displays wooden ceiling work with inscriptions from 1697 by Michael Pahl, surrounded by Renaissance and Mannerist decorative elements. These ornaments reflect the artistic evolution the space has undergone over time.

Access to the interior requires prior permission from the parish priest, as this is a protected heritage monument. It is advisable to contact the church administration in advance to arrange an appropriate time to visit.

The bell tower was constructed in 1814 following designs by the renowned architect Karl Friedrich Schinkel. This neoclassical addition demonstrates the importance of the church during its era and its connection to major European artistic movements.
