Suchostrzygi

Suchostrzygi is a residential district in Tczew with multiple housing blocks built since the 1970s, along with three elementary schools and two parish churches. The neighborhood features an extensive network of bicycle paths and several recreational areas for residents.

This area began as a peasant village founded in the 16th century, known as Łunowo during the Teutonic Order rule. The location underwent major transformation in the 20th century when residential blocks were constructed.

The local library holds photographs and artifacts showing how this neighborhood transformed from farmland into a residential area. Visitors can see these traces and understand how daily life evolved for people who settled here.

The district is well-planned with flat terrain and good accessibility for pedestrians and cyclists thanks to the bicycle path network. Schools and churches are spread throughout the area, making a walk a good way to explore the different parts.

Archaeological excavations revealed a Bronze Age spearhead linked to the Lusatian culture buried in this location. This finding shows the area was inhabited in ancient times, long before the medieval village appeared.
