Willa Eliza w Tenczynku, villa in Tenczynek, Poland
Willa Eliza is a two-story brick house built in the late 19th century in Rzeczki, the eastern area of Tenczynek. The building features small balconies and traditional windows, surrounded by a garden and park grounds that form part of the heritage-protected estate.
The house was built by Stanisław Pareński, a professor and doctor at Jagiellonian University, and his wife Eliza, serving as their family home for many years. The entire estate was officially registered as a protected monument in 1989 under registration number A-601.
The villa served as a gathering place for artists and writers from across Poland. Its name comes from Eliza Pareńska, the owner's wife, and the rooms still reflect the era when prominent cultural figures visited and found inspiration within its walls.
The property sits at ul. Pareńskiego 46 on the eastern side of Tenczynek near old industrial sites and is accessible on foot from the village. Access to the grounds is available, though visitors should note the building is currently in disrepair and shows signs of deterioration.
The renowned artist Stanisław Wyspiański visited the villa multiple times and painted portraits of the owner's daughters, Marysia and Zosia. His connection to the place was so strong that he later immortalized the daughters as characters in his play Wesele.
