Ostrowy Reservoir
The Ostrowy Reservoir is a large water body on the Biała Oksza river stretching between two small villages and covering about 39 hectares. The facility includes a beach near the dam, a sand volleyball court, a wooden children's playground, and storage for water sports equipment.
The reservoir was constructed starting in 2000 and completed in 2003 to prevent flooding and improve water management. After its completion, it quickly became a popular fishing destination and later developed into a recreational area.
The name refers to the nearby village of Ostrowy nad Okszą located along its shores. The location has become a gathering place for anglers and nature lovers who practice traditional outdoor activities like fishing and walking through the forest.
The location is accessible by small country roads with parking available nearby. Visitors should bring their own food since there are no restaurants close by, but benches and covered barbecue grills are provided for picnicking.
The regulations here ban loud engines and floating equipment to preserve quiet, and from January to May boating is not allowed at all. These strict rules make it one of the few places where absolute silence reigns over the water.
