Piast tower in Cieszyn, Gothic defense tower in Cieszyn, Poland.
The stone tower rises 30 meters high on Castle Hill, featuring four distinct sections including an underground dungeon and residential quarters.
Built in the 14th century as part of the upper castle's defense system, the tower received an additional storey with machicolation by the end of the 15th century.
The tower displays corner heraldic shields with the eagle of the Piasts, representing the medieval dynasty that ruled this region of Poland.
Visitors can climb 120 stairs to reach the observation deck, which offers views of both Polish and Czech sections of Cieszyn.
The tower contains an underground ice tunnel that served as a storage facility for beer during medieval times.
