Town hall tower in Żnin

The town hall tower in Żnin is a Gothic structure with thick stone walls and a square base that rises from the city center. Inside, four exhibition levels display medieval weapons, historical objects, and an original clock mechanism.

The structure was built around 1445 and remained the sole surviving part of the original town hall complex. After Swedish forces destroyed the main building in 1656, it became the principal remnant of the city's medieval architecture.

The tower now functions as a branch of the Pałuki Region Museum, displaying medieval weapons, historical artifacts, and an original clock mechanism.

The tower can be explored by visitors across four separate levels, each housing different collections. It is advisable to allow adequate time for a complete tour and to enjoy the view from the top.

Archaeological excavations in 2010 uncovered four medieval black powder cannons near the structure. A reconstructed version of one of these cannons now stands at the entrance for visitors to see.
