Narrow Gauge Railway Museum in Wenecja

The Narrow Gauge Railway Museum in Wenecja houses a collection of steam locomotives, passenger cars, freight wagons, and railway equipment displayed across open-air tracks and indoor exhibition spaces. The site features a variety of restored vehicles and technical materials that document the history of this regional narrow gauge network.

The institution was established in 1972 as part of the Museum of Pałuki Land, preserving narrow gauge railway heritage through locomotives dating from 1899 onward. It was founded to safeguard important aspects of the region's railway history.

The museum displays railway uniforms, station equipment, and tools that show how workers operated Polish narrow gauge lines. You can see the everyday objects and gear that kept these trains running through the decades.

The site sits between three lakes near Żnin and operates daily. Regular narrow gauge train rides connect to the nearby Biskupin archaeological site, offering visitors a combined experience.

The collection includes a rare Belgian locomotive from 1935, one of only ten units made by Charles, featuring distinctive technical features. This unusual engine attracts visitor interest as a scarce international addition to what is otherwise a Polish-focused collection.
