Wielopolski Palace in Chroberz, Palace complex in Chroberz, Poland
Wielopolski Palace is a residence in Chroberz featuring late classical architecture with a central risalit adorned with columns and an attic decorated with statues. The building contains multiple rooms, including a former hunting room that now serves as an art gallery.
Margrave Aleksander Wielopolski commissioned architect Enrico Marconi in 1850 to design this residence to house an extensive library and collection previously owned by Konstanty Świdziński. Since then, it has become a center for preserving regional culture and agricultural traditions.
The Regional Gallery occupies the former hunting room and displays four portrait medallions of past owners painted by Andrzej Pruszyński. These artworks tell the story of the people who shaped this residence across generations.
The complex operates as a Cultural Heritage and Agricultural Tradition Center for the Ponidzie region and offers guided tours on specific days throughout the month. Visitors should check in advance when tours are available and what areas of the grounds are accessible.
The surrounding English-style garden contains several remarkable trees, including centuries-old ginkgo biloba specimens and a notable collection of sycamore trees. These ancient trees create a distinctive setting when exploring the estate grounds.
