Łyżka

Łyżka is an 803-meter summit located in the eastern section of the Beskid Wyspowy range, positioned between the villages of Roztoka and Przyszowa. The peak sits at a natural divide between the Słomki valley and a tributary of the Łukowica stream, with well-marked trails crossing the surrounding landscape.

Archaeological findings at the summit include remnants of defensive walls, ditches, and ceramic fragments from Celtic times, indicating ancient settlement and strategic use of the location. These artifacts suggest the site held importance for early populations in the region.

Local folklore ties this summit to Saint Kinga, who according to legend left a silver spoon here while fleeing from Tatar raids. The name itself reflects this connection between the mountain and the beliefs of people who lived nearby.

The summit is accessible via multiple marked hiking trails, including a green route from Limanowa through Jabłoniec and a black route from Przyszowa village. Visitors should wear sturdy hiking boots and prepare for changing mountain weather conditions.

The name comes from the Polish word for spoon, referencing the legendary story of Saint Kinga and giving the location its distinctive character. This connection between geography and religious tradition makes the place memorable for visitors.
