Karncza Góra, Former village in Gmina Kąty Wrocławskie, Poland.
Karncza Góra is a former village in Gmina Kąty Wrocławskie situated on an elongated hill rising to 128 meters above the surrounding plains near Wrocław. The location is marked today by two granite crosses standing along the road connecting Wrocław to Smolec.
The settlement was first documented in 1155 as Carnchagora and belonged to the Wrocław Cathedral chapter until its buildings were destroyed in 1945. It ceased to exist when its territory became part of the expansion zone for the Strachowice military airport.
The place name derives from Carnchagora and evolved through Cansgor and Kanczgo to the German designation Kentschkau used until 1937.
The location is easily accessible via hiking trails and bicycle route R9 that connect from Wrocław into the surrounding area. The site is flat and easy to navigate, with the two granite crosses serving as clear orientation points.
Although the physical settlement no longer exists, the site has remained a place of remembrance due to its historical importance to the region. Visitors can still explore the old pathways at the location that once connected the village to neighboring settlements.
