Kamienica Izaaka Rothberga, Gothic Revival house in Marszałkowska Street, Warsaw, Poland.
Kamienica Izaaka Rothberga is a residential building in Gothic Revival style located on Marszałkowska Street in Warsaw. The five-story structure features pointed arch windows and detailed stonework, with shops occupying the ground floor and apartments above.
The building was constructed in 1894 following architect Stefan Szyller's design, reflecting Warsaw's prosperous growth period. It survived World War II and was subsequently registered as a monument in the Masovian region's heritage records.
The building is named after a former Jewish owner and reflects the area's diverse past. Its decorated street facade speaks to the prosperous residents who once lived in this neighborhood.
The building sits at the corner of Marszałkowska and Wilcza Streets in the city center, making it easy to locate and view from the street. The ground-floor shops are accessible during business hours, while the residential apartments remain private.
The original brick and limestone construction has survived more than a century largely intact. The building also contains its original fireproof staircases from the construction period, a rare feature for Warsaw buildings from that era.
