Saint Dominic church is a brick building with three naves and a front facade marked by pilasters and a triangular gable. The monastery complex includes several attached structures that form an integrated ensemble in the Służew district.
In 1603 Father Abraham Bzowski arrived in Warsaw with eleven brothers to establish the monastery. The Dominicans have shaped religious and cultural life in the city ever since.
The monastery library holds an extensive collection of historic books and manuscripts, making it one of the principal religious research centers in Poland.
The monastery is open daily to visitors outside of service hours. Access to the main church is provided through two separate staircases.
During the Warsaw Uprising in 1944, the monastery served as a temporary hospital sheltering thousands. The building carries visible marks from this dramatic chapter in its past.
