Saint George and the Assumption of Mary church in Miasteczko Śląskie, Wooden church in Miasteczko Śląskie, Poland.

Saint George and the Assumption of Mary is a wooden church with a square nave leading to a narrower semi-hexagonal chancel, both resting on brick foundations. The building is distinguished by separate gable roofs covering each section and a covered walkway supported by wooden posts that runs around the outer walls.

Construction took place from 1665 to 1667, with dates carved into several wooden beams as records of the work, notably the rood beam dated October 23, 1666. A separate bell tower was added in 1717 and houses a bell cast in 1712.

The church reflects how Catholic communities maintained their faith in a region where Protestantism was dominant during earlier centuries. Walking through it, you see how local people used this wooden structure to express their religious identity.

The structure is accessible from outside and displays well-preserved original wooden elements that should be handled with care. The covered walkway around the perimeter allows you to view the building from different angles while remaining protected from the weather.

The separate bell tower holds an overlooked detail: a weathervane marked with 1928, showing how the building was maintained and updated across centuries. This reveals the ongoing connection between the community and its wooden church through generations.
