Church of St. Mary in Chojna

The Church of St. Mary is a brick Gothic building with three naves and a height exceeding 100 meters, featuring decorative glazed bricks on its exterior. The structure displays typical Gothic design with a complex floor plan and intricate brickwork throughout.

Construction of the Gothic church started around 1390, with the choir consecrated in 1407 and the naves completed by 1459 under architect Hinrich Brunsberg. This phased building process shaped the final structure and reflects construction practices of that era.

The church interior displays multiple altars, painted vaults, and stained-glass windows showing biblical stories that create a richly decorated sacred space.

The main church space is accessible from ground level, allowing visitors to view the interior decoration and experience the room proportions. A tower with stairs leads to an observation area for those wanting views over the city.
