Saint Mark Church is a Gothic building near the Main Market Square located on Sławkowska Street. The interior features a late-Renaissance main altar and a distinctive heart-shaped pulpit decorated with Saint Mark insignia.
The church was founded in 1295 when Prince Bolesław invited twelve Canon Regulars of the Penance to establish a wooden structure at this site. The building was later rebuilt in stone and retained its Gothic character through the centuries.
A medieval wooden cross inside the church holds significance as the place where Christ reportedly spoke to Blessed Michał Giedroyć during his prayers.
The church is open to visitors during regular hours and is maintained by the Congregation of Sisters of Saint Jadwiga. It is helpful to check opening times in advance since the building's primary function is for religious services.
Inside the building stands a preserved tombstone of Blessed Michał from the 17th century alongside a statue of the Archangel Michael sculpted by Baltazar Fontana. These artworks can be seen by visitors and reflect the spiritual importance of this place.
