Sacred Heart church in Karpacz, Catholic church in Karpacz, Poland
The Sacred Heart Church features a sandstone altar, painted ceiling coffers displaying floral motifs, and a central triptych of Jesus.
The structure originated as a Norwegian stave church in the 13th century before its transportation and reconstruction in Karpacz during 1844.
The church contains wooden reliefs on the pulpit depicting Gospel scenes, crafted at the woodcarving school in Cieplice.
Visitors can access the church daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. during summer season and until 5 p.m. in winter months.
Through intervention of painter Johann Christian Dahl, the entire church structure moved from Vang, Norway to Prussia and finally to Poland.
