Most Stacha, Stone bridge in Znamirowice, Poland

Most Stacha is a stone bridge in Znamirowice that crosses a deep ravine and rises about 13 meters above a small stream. The structure features arched walls and was built entirely from locally quarried Siwiec sandstone.

Local farmer Jan Stach began construction in 1968 after neighbors denied him access to his land. The work was completed in 1971, demonstrating his determination to create his own path despite opposition.

The bridge bears the name of Jan Stach, the farmer who built it with remarkable determination. His name remains connected to this structure, reflecting his resolve to create a passage despite opposition.

Access to Most Stacha requires permission from current property owners, as the bridge sits on private land. The location lies along a marked hiking trail between Tarnów and Wielki Rogacz and is reachable on foot.

Beneath the bridge runs a barrel-vaulted tunnel carved from sandstone specifically for water passage. This practical solution shows how the builder accounted for the stream's flow.
