Młyn Hermanka w Poznaniu, Historical steam mill in Wilda district, Poznań, Poland
Młyn Hermanka is a brick industrial complex with multiple connected structures in Poznań's Wilda district. The facility combines a milling house, engine room, boiler house, grain storage, stable, gatehouse, and residential spaces on the grounds along Fabryczna Street.
The steam mill was completed in 1895 by two Poznań industrialists, Rotholz and Lewin, and soon became a major production center for the region. The facility later joined the Hermannmühlen company, establishing itself as a key part of the city's manufacturing identity.
The mill shows how steam-powered industry shaped Poznań in the late 1800s, bringing manufacturing growth and employment to the Wilda district during the city's expansion.
The complex is located near a Lidl supermarket at Fabryczna Street 22/23, beside railway lines toward Berlin and Wrocław. The site is easy to reach from the city center and sits in an area with good public transport connections.
A devastating fire in 2003 damaged much of the complex, yet the structure survived this disaster and remains a testament to industrial resilience. Today, the remains stand as a reminder of survival through difficult times.
