Borowiec Astrogeodynamic Observatory

The Borowiec Astrogeodynamic Observatory is a research facility in Poland equipped with advanced laser systems and satellite tracking equipment. The installation performs precise measurements of satellite orbits and contributes to studies about how these objects move in space.

The facility was established by the Space Research Centre of the Polish Academy of Sciences to strengthen Poland's capabilities in space observation. It developed into an important center for geodetic research and satellite measurements.

Access to the observatory is at Drapałka 4 street in Borówiec. Visitors should call in advance to arrange a guided tour of the facility.

The laser station at this facility can track all satellites in the European Galileo constellation and delivers extremely precise position data. These highly accurate measurements help scientists around the world better understand the orbits and movements of these spacecraft.
