Muzeum Hymnu Narodowego w Będominie, National Anthem Museum in Będomin, Poland
Muzeum Hymnu Narodowego is a museum in a manor house in Będomin, Poland, dedicated to the Polish national anthem. The exhibition spreads across several rooms and displays documents, military objects and memorabilia connected to the creation and meaning of the anthem.
The manor house was built in the early 18th century and was the birthplace of Józef Wybicki, who wrote the words of the Polish anthem. Following extensive renovation between 1977 and 1978, the building was converted into a museum.
The site takes its name from a poet who was born in the house and wrote the words of the Polish anthem. The building now holds items such as jewelry, weapons, carpets and paintings that show how people connected with their country across generations.
The museum is open from Tuesday to Saturday and on Sundays, with hours typically in the morning and early afternoon. Guided tours are available at an extra fee and offer additional insights into the collection.
The collection preserves an original sheet music of the Polish anthem that was published in Paris in 1826 in both Polish and French. This document is among the earliest printed versions of the text and melody.
